This notice explains how AutoGhost (“we”, “us”), based in Kuwait, handles personal data when you use the AutoGhost app for Mac and this website. We are the controller of the personal data described here, except where we say Paddle is.
The short version
AutoGhost edits your video on your Mac. Your footage, audio, faces and voices are never uploaded to us. We only handle the small amount of data needed to run trials and subscriptions and to answer your emails.
1. Your footage stays on your Mac
AutoGhost analyses video and audio, including voices and camera images, entirely on your Mac to decide who is speaking. This analysis is not sent to us or anyone else, and we don’t keep voice or face profiles. Shows you teach AutoGhost are saved only on your Mac.
2. Data we collect
- Trial and licence data. When you start a trial or activate a subscription, AutoGhost sends a randomly generated identifier for your Mac (not your name or files), your licence key if you have one, the app version and macOS version, so we can check your trial or subscription and allow one trial per Mac. Purpose: to provide the service you asked for (performance of a contract).
- Purchase data. When you subscribe, Paddle collects your name, email address, country, billing details and payment information. We receive your email address, country and subscription details from Paddle, but never your full card details. Purpose: to provide your subscription, support you and keep accurate records (contract and legal obligations).
- Emails you send us. If you contact us, we keep your email address and message to reply and help you (our legitimate interest in supporting customers).
- Website data. Our hosting provider processes your IP address and basic browser information to deliver the website securely. The site loads fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when a page loads. The site remembers your language choice in your browser; this stays on your device. We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies or analytics.
3. Who we share data with
- Paddle (Paddle.com Market Ltd and its affiliates), our reseller and Merchant of Record, which processes orders, payments, taxes and refunds as an independent controller under its own privacy notice.
- Service providers who help us run AutoGhost, such as our licensing service, website hosting and email provider, only for those purposes and under contract.
- Professional advisers, such as accountants and lawyers, where needed.
- Authorities, where the law requires us to.
We never sell your personal data. Some of these providers are located outside your country; where this happens, we rely on their contractual safeguards to protect your data.
4. How long we keep it
We keep licence and subscription data while your trial or subscription is active and for up to 2 years afterwards to prevent repeated trials and resolve disputes. We keep records required for tax and accounting for as long as the law requires. Support emails are kept for up to 2 years after your last message.
5. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, receive a copy of it, and withdraw consent where we rely on consent. You can also complain to your local data protection authority. To use any of these rights, email hello@autoghost.studio. We aim to reply within one month. For payment data held by Paddle, you can also contact Paddle directly.
6. Security
We protect your data with appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encrypted connections and limited access. Because your footage never leaves your Mac, it is protected by your Mac’s own security.
7. Children
AutoGhost is not intended for children under 16, and we don’t knowingly collect their personal data.
8. Changes
We may update this notice. If we make significant changes, we will tell you on our website or in the app.
